If you want modern features without paying premium-brand prices, Hisense is worth a look. Best known in Canada for televisions, the company has built a serious home appliance business: refrigerators, convertible freezers, ranges and specialty cooling that deliver more than the price suggests. Econoplus carries Hisense in new, open-box and refurbished condition.

Hisense Fridges and Convertible Freezers

This is the heart of the lineup and the reason most people land here. Hisense offers one of the broadest refrigeration selections in its class, from compact apartment fridges through counter-depth models that sit flush with cabinetry, up to full-size French door refrigerators.

The convertible units are the standout. A convertible fridge-freezer switches between refrigerator and freezer mode from the control panel, so one appliance covers bulk freezing through most of the year and turns into extra cold storage when you need it, whether that is before a big family gathering or when you are hosting. Garage-ready models are built to keep working through temperature swings in an unheated space. Sizes range widely, so measure before you buy.

Shop the Rest of the Hisense Lineup

Beyond refrigeration, Hisense covers cooking and a range of specialty cold storage that is worth a look if you need more than a standard kitchen setup.

Hisense Ranges

Hisense ranges regularly include features that used to be reserved for premium appliances: true convection, ceramic glass cooktops and built-in Air Fry. Freestanding and slide-in styles are both available, and they are designed to fit standard kitchen cutouts.

Hisense Freezers, Wine Coolers and Beverage Centres

Beyond the main lineup, Hisense produces upright freezers, chest freezers, beverage centres and wine coolers. These are the flexible pieces, the ones that end up in a garage, a cottage, a basement or a home bar, wherever you need cold storage that the kitchen cannot provide.

FAQ

Have a question about Hisense Appliances? Here are quick answers to what shoppers ask most, from choosing the right model to buying online or reserving in store at Econoplus.

What is the point of a convertible freezer?

It lets one appliance do two jobs. Run it as a freezer through most of the year for bulk food storage, then switch it to fridge mode when you need extra cold space, whether that is before a holiday or when you are feeding a crowd. That flexibility makes it a smart pick for a garage, a basement, or anywhere you would otherwise need a second dedicated appliance.
Can I trust a brand I mostly know for TVs?

It is a fair question, and the answer is yes. Hisense's appliance credibility took a real step up in 2018 when it acquired Gorenje, a Slovenian manufacturer with a long history in refrigeration and laundry specifically, not just electronics. The brand's reputation rests on solid, no-nonsense performance at a lower price point than the bigger household names.
Is an open-box appliance really the same as new?

Functionally, yes. Nothing about the appliance itself has been used. The discount comes from packaging, a floor placement, or a return, not from performance, so you are not trading reliability for savings. Warranty terms can differ slightly from a sealed unit bought at full price, so confirm on the listing.
Why not just chill wine in the regular fridge?

A standard fridge runs colder than wine wants and cycles its temperature more, which is not ideal for anything you plan to keep for a while. A wine cooler holds a steadier, warmer temperature and manages humidity, which matters once bottles sit longer than a few weeks. Chilling a bottle before dinner in the regular fridge is fine; long-term storage is where a wine cooler earns its place.
How do I make sure a fridge or stove actually fits?

Start with the opening, measuring width, depth and height, because Hisense fridge sizes swing from compact to full-size more than most brands. Then check the path it has to travel: door frames, hallway turns, stairwells, all of it. If any of that gets tricky, our team is happy to work it out with you before you commit.
