Vestel is a Turkish home and professional appliances manufacturing company consisting of 18 companies specialised in electronics, major appliances and information technology. Vestel's headquarters and production plant are located in Manisa, while the company's parent conglomerate is the Istanbul based Zorlu Holding.

Vestel, together with its subsidiary brands has a significant share in the European market of consumer electronics and home appliances, in particular TV sets.[3] As of 2006, Vestel was the largest TV producer in Europe with more than 8 million units sold, accounting for a quarter of the European market. Vestel also has two subsidiary brands: Vestfrost used for white goods and Luxor used for televisions, sold in the Nordic countries. In 2014, Vestel entered the smartphone market as well.

Most TVs produced by Vestel are sold under licensed brand names such as Toshiba, Hitachi, Polaroid, JVC, Bush, Alba and many own brand labels.

In 2021, Vestel Customer Services received two awards from the 4th CX Awards Turkey and one award from the Istanbul Marketing Awards.

Finlux History

First appearance of the name Finlux

The name Finlux first appeared in 1964, when Iskumetalli began marketing televisions under this brand name after being acquired by the Finnish conglomerate Lohja. Iskumetalli was founded in 1949 and had been manufacturing televisions since 1958.

First to be used as a company name

In 1971 it was renamed Finlux; this was the first time Finlux was used as a company name.

Finlux name used in marketing

In 1977, Lohja began manufacturing electroluminescence (EL) displays after purchasing the development project, led by Dr. Tuomo Suntola. The EL displays were manufactured using the atomic layer deposition (ALD) process developed under the project and were marketed under the Finlux brand.

Acquisition of the name Finlux

In 2006, Turkish electronics company Vestel, owned by Zorlu Holding Group, purchased the Finlux brand.
